The SE2 is here—a legendary guitar reborn! This is the very first guitar to roll out of our brand-new factory in Sicamous, BC, Canada, and it’s packed with everything we’ve learned over nearly two decades of building world-class instruments.

Crafted with a Chillakwian Maple back and sides, a Sitka Spruce top, Skeletized Bracing, a Double Reaction Bridge, a Side Port, and our revolutionary Adjustable Neck Thru Construction, the SE2 is a masterclass in tone, innovation, and playability.

Back in 2012, we shook up the industry with our patented Neck Thru guitar system, launching it with the now-legendary “Special Edition.” It won multiple awards, set our company on a rocket-fueled trajectory, and was hailed by Acoustic Guitar magazine as the perfect tonal blend between a Martin and a Taylor. We loved building that guitar and it's been loved by players around the world ever since. 

In 2018, we retired the model to make way for the G2 series—but we never forgot our roots. Now, after 19 years of pushing the boundaries of guitar design, we’re bringing it back, better than ever. The SE2 isn’t just a reissue; it’s a celebration of everything we’ve learned, packed into an instrument that honours the past while embracing the future. 

And the best part? It’s built by the happiest people in Canada.

The Patented Riversong Adjustable Neck-Thru System ™ 

 Our patented Adjustable Neck-Thru System ™   offers many benefits including: 

• strength
• intonation
• less bracing
• easier playing (due to the ability to make precise adjustments)
• variable top loading
• an even balanced sustain, tone & volume up and down the neck (yes even on the body), 
• no more need for an expensive neck reset
• slinky easy string tension
• reduced heel
• integrated strap pins as part of the structure of the guitar 

Riversong's unique patented Adjustable Neck-Thru System™  also has a truss rod that runs the full length of the neck.  Most traditional guitars have a truss rod that ends at the 14^th fret with an elongated screw head.  Riversong necks have a full-length truss rod that adjusts the entire length. This is closer to how an electric guitar is constructed. 

The patented Adjustable Neck-Thru System™  has a small amount of flex (like a Strat) and this allows regular gauge strings to feel a lot less stiff further enforcing our electric-like feel.

Our Active Body System

Riversong’s innovation is the active body system. It works by moving the neck all the way through the body allowing two things happen:

•  The structure shifts from neck joint to the end block
•  The mass of the neck is now equal in and out of the guitar and it is free to vibrate like a tuning fork helping to ring up and down the neck and throughout the body. With the structure coming from the back of the guitar, the body and the neck has a little bit of flex (think more like a Strat vs a Les Paul). This flex gives the body the ability to freely vibrate and give the strings a really slinky feel (low tension)
